If you tried to access this site on Friday evening there is a fair chance that you found it unavailable. This obviously wasn’t planned, but coincided with the release of a new video from Geoff Marshall (aka @geofftech). With almost 100K followers of his YouTube channel, this site recieved an unprecedented spike in demand. Thankfully all was fixed by the early hours of Saturday morning. Want to know what the fuss was about? Take a look, and subscribe to Geoff’s channel if you haven’t already.

Hello, which section on this site contains the map shown in the video? Cheers!
Hi Bob,
It’s in Fares Guide, then Guide to fare scales.
Hi Mike,
Nice to finally put a face to a name! First heard about your website a couple of years ago from a @geofftech video, it’s been super useful for me as a Londoner 🙂
I just wanted to ask, would the route from Whitechapel to Woolwich Arsenal also be cheaper because of the Crossrail fares? And if so, is there a particular route to take? My friend commutes that route every day, so would be super useful for her to know!! Especially since crossrail is now postponed indefinitely.
Thanks again for your amazing website!
Yes, Woolwich Arsenal has worked for a long time because of the DLR. You can take any route as long as you don’t change at London Terminals
Good to see you on Geoff’s video Mike!
Londoners are very lucky to have you on-side sorting all these queries out 🙂
Hi Mike,
I treid something similar (Hayes & Harlington to Abbey Wood via Ealing Broadway, Shepherd’s Bush, Willesden Junction, Stratford and Woolwich Arsenal). The only problem was, on the way there, the signs told me to go out of the DLR station and back in to the mainline station and I got charged two fares (£1 H&H – Woolwich Arsenal + £1.40 Woolwich Arsenal – Abbey Wood; I have a railcard loaded on my Oyster). On the way back, the signs sent me up some steps and along a passageway so I didn’t leave the station and I was charged £1 for the entire journey (touching the pink reader at Stratford each way).
Hi Stuart,
Glad to hear it worked one way. That’s a bit naughty if signs from the DLR to NR take you out of the paid area. I’ll check on that next time I’m there, but it sounds like there should be an OSI between those two gatelines.
Hi Stuart and Mike
Coincidentally I was at Woolwich Arsenal on Saturday. I was aware of the fact that you shouldn’t touch out and in on the standalone readers as my wife and children once had two journeys that way although they were later automatically refunded. I once transferred from DLR to NR and had to leave and re-enter the station. I got 2 journeys but it didn’t matter as I have a Travelcard. On Saturday I looked carefully at the signs and the stairs at one end of the platform, the closest when you get off the train, are just signed for exit the other end is signed for NR and brings you straight to the platform.
Thanks Nick.
Mike, thank you for this great tip, I’ve used it a few times now. Last week I went from Abbey Wood to Moor Park and it worked a treat.
You do a fantastic service for the traveling public!
