I can see why you’ve not added the Elizabeth line fares to your own fare finder as the TfL one is still using legacy methods of travelling to the new stations.
For example, Forest Hill to Woolwich Crossrail or Abbey Wood are £2.80 off-peak if you use the pink readers at Canada Water or Shadwell, but no mention of Whitechapel yet as a pink reader station.
Will the stations on the ELL south of New Cross Gate continue to be charged at the NR scale to Woolwich and Abbey Wood like the DLR stations between Cutty Sark and Lewisham or will they be at the standard TfL scale?
As it happens I’ve just added the 3 new stations to my fare finder (Woolwich, Custom House and Canary Wharf). All the others have the same fares as the associated LU or NR station. There are definitely some errors which may or may not be resolved on May 24th. As it stands it’s a mess.
The TfL fare finder has removed Woolwich on the dropdown when typing in “Woolwich”, but still shows Arsenal DLR or NR and Dockyard.
So they have! I’ve removed them too in that case. I wonder if that had anything to do with an email I sent earlier?
This morning the Elizabeth Line fares are on the TfL single fare finder. Unfortunately the TfL journey planner doesn’t have them or the Elizabeth Line services.
National Rail does better but is missing some of the interchanges such as Moorgate and I’ve spotted some incorrect fares (I assume) where it is offering Paddington via Farringdon or Liverpool St. at the London Terminal fares from Thameslink and Greater Anglia stationsHi Adam,
The fares from late adopting National Rail stations are a mess. If you can use Thameslink core then they are all NR only, so I think Elizabeth line core ought to be the same. I’m not really sure what’s going on though.
I fear journeys to Woolwich and Abbey Wood will remain on the NR scale from Forest Hill (to protect Southeastern revenue) as when I tried Forest Hill to Custom House NR, it came up with the correct TfL fare of £1.70 off peak.
I’m really not sure what is happening with fares. I’ve asked for clarification. The fares from Woolwich EL seem to be the same as those from Woolwich Arsenal, even mentioning things like changing at New Cross. This is ridiculous in my opinion. My hope is that there is a new fare table to be uploaded on May 24th.

60+ Oyster card users already cannot use the card beyond West Drayton. It’s nothing new. The 60+ Oyster card is effectively an off-peak season ticket, so it’s valid to buy a ticket from boundary of zone 6 to Reading and use that in conjunction with the 60+ Oyster.
Even when the full service is running on the whole line next year there won’t be 12 trains an hour to Reading.
True but what ARE new are the through trains and a TfL-issued concession that becomes invalid whilst aboard a TfL service.
Is there no way to avoid having to get off at WD? No way to buy an extension ticket in advance?TfL Rail (soon to be rebranded as Elizabeth line) have been running the trains for quite a while between Paddington and Reading. The 60+ Oyster card is a London thing and TfL/the Mayor can’t justify extending it beyond London.
As I said, you can buy a ticket from boundary zone 6 to Reading. You can get that at Paddington and you can even use the combination on the fast GWR trains. Freedom Pass holders who can travel all the way to Reading are limited to the slow TfL trains.
Harold Wood is within London zones 1-6.
If you ask for the ticket at any NR ticket office they will know what it is. It is also available at ticket machines which sell tickets from another station. Just start typing boundary in as the origin station and you’ll get it. You can also call any train company telesales and order it to be picked up at a station ticket machine.
The only place you can’t get it is websites at the moment.
FYI the National Rail online return fare is only 10p more than the TfL fare finder. So that’s the way to do it ATM.

Yes, that’s what I’d expect I think. New Cross Gate can’t include an interchange involving New Cross Gate so they will have looked at that separately.
Just travelled into Moorgate on Great Northern with a NR ticket to London terminals and tried to exit at the Liverpool Street end of the Elizabeth Line station. The gate staff wanted me to tap out (which would have landed me a penalty fare)and didn’t want to let me through. Is anyone aware of the policy on this? The London Terminals ticket is specifically valid at Liverpool Street according to the NR website.

Can I clarify, was it a paper ticket and were you asked to insert it into the gates? And which gates did you try to get through? My understanding is that the Broadgate exit gates are connected to Moorgate station.
It was an e-ticket on the Grant Shapps sale HFN-LON. I exited the Liverpool Street station exit as I was headed to Brick Lane area.
OK, I’m not sure of the technicalities, but that should have been fine I would have said. I don’t think the gates at Liverpool Street LU are set up to accept e-tickets yet, so I would expect you to be let through. I think you should probably seek clarification from the ticket retailer and/or Great Northern.

“In this case i am afraid that the only ways to make this trip are noted on the tfl website under alternate fares and if your desired trip is not there then it is not available. We are still in the process of updating our system to incorporate the Elizabeth line into our website and online tools (single fare finder) so this could change but for know these are the only available routes that allow you to skip zones 1.”
