I used the fare finder to find the off-peak fares for Canary Wharf (LU) to Wimbledon (NR) while making a Zone 2-3 trip. I see two different such fares in the results.

    A) Avoiding Zone 1 via Canada Water (touch on the pink card reader if/when interchanging at Canada Water): £2.60

    B) Avoiding Zone 1 via Stratford, Willesden Junction and West Brompton (touch on the pink card reader if/when interchanging at Stratford and West Brompton): £1.70

What is the reason that (A) and (B) which make the same zone changes have different fares?

    Hi Emmet,

The cheaper route uses Overground and Underground only whereas the other one uses National Rail between Clapham Junction and Wimbledon.

See the fares guide page for more details.
