Can anyone help please? I want to use contactless to travel by underground from Stamford Brook to Tower Hill and then from Fenchurch Street to Upminster (in zone 6) on c2c, before going further on a train ticket, as it’s much cheaper this way. Can I touch out (and in on the return journey) on the platform at Upminster, to avoid being overcharged, and, if so, where on the platform is the card reader please? Any help really appreciated. TIA

    Hi Richard,

I think there are validators on the platform at Upminster, but I’m not sure where. I’d say it’s likely to be on the District line platforms, so maybe not so useful for staying on the same C2C train.

There are some near the stairs on c2c platforms but they are normally out of use. Westbound the best bet is to use the platform level gateline.
