    Hi Mike,
I’ve read the post about the refund of the £5 purchase fee for an Oyster Card that goes back onto the card as PAYG after the year anniversary of purchasing the card.

I got a 20 year anniversary Oyster Card from the Travel Shop at Kings Cross on July 31st last year so I expected that today after travelling around a bit on Oyster with at 3 seperate journeys. One of which was five hours after the first journey made that I should have had the £7 returned as credit as its now over a year.

I did get a £5 refund from the Elizabeth Line cards and I noticed it wasn’t the first journey that applied the refund but the second chargeable trip but I didn’t get the £7 back today on the 20 year Oyster Card.

The card is of course registered but I did read elsewhere on the Internet that the £7 fee is now non refundable.

However, you are the ultimate knowledge of all things Oyster so I know by placing this post I’ll get the correct answer….is this the case that £7 fee is no longer refunded automatically or am I too early in assuming the refund would be today?

    Thank you so much 🙂
    Chris

    Thanks Mike,
That does explain why I didn’t get it back.
Wonder why they changed it 🙁

Pressure from the Tory government over bailouts.
