    Hi all, I’m a little bit confused on the weekly capping system.
    As stated in the TFL website, the weekly caps will not be greater than a 7 day Travel Card fares.
    But what if I apply for the 18+ Student Oyster Card, will I get the discounted weekly cap equal to 18+ Student rates? (in this case, 30% off 7 Day Adult Travel Card rate).

    I’m deciding wheter to get a regular Oystercard plus Railcard or A 18+ Student Oyster card as I’m usually travel in off-peak hour. But if there is no weekly cap difference between the regular and the student one, I’ll probably get the regular one since the applying fee for Student is 25gpb.

    Hi,

    Weekly capping on Oyster is currently only done on normal adult Oyster cards with no discount entitlement. If you are certain that you won’t need to use the discounted travelcards then I agree that a normal Oyster is ok. The 16-25 railcard can be added to both normal and Student Oyster cards.
