Can anyone clarify the rules for using an OSI when one or both of the stations has only validators and not a full barrier? Is it necessary to tap the validator at both stations, one or not at all (assuming a tap is not required to prove the route)?
Here are a couple of examples:
    1. Welwyn Garden City to Crouch Hill via Harringay / Harringay Green Lanes (validator at both, default fare via OSI)
    2. Alexandra Palace to Cockfosters (via Bowes Park / Bounds Green (validator only at Bowes Park, barrier at Bounds Green)
    3. Cockfosters to Alexandra Palace via Bounds Green / Bowes Park (would not tapping the validator at Bowes Park give an issue if the card was inspected?)
2&3 are non-default routes despite being more obvious that changing at Finsbury Park, however I would assume that tapping at the barrier at Bounds Green would be sufficient to trigger the OSI.

    Hi Adam,

You need to either touch at both stations or neither. If you only touch at one then you are likely to get an incomplete journey, and may also be in trouble if you are inspected while the system thinks you are out.

Following on from that, if the touches are needed to prove the route then you must touch at both stations.
