Fare anomaly from Epsom

    I am checking some fares from Epsom and found out that some of the zones are nonsensical.

    Epsom – Strawberry Hill is listed as 3-9, to Twickenham is 4-9, to St Margarets and Richmond are both 2-9, where the most reasonable route is a single change at Raynes Park for all the above situations.

    I agree that Epsom to Strawberry Hill is wrong, it should be the same as Twickenham. There are not many trains from Raynes Park towards Richmond, so I’m guessing that the extra availability of trains between Clapham Junction and both Richmond and Epsom means that most people will go that way.

    When the trains are on time, then Raynes Park is a good connection. Epsom to Strawberry Hill via Raynes Park is 53 minutes, whereas via Clapham Junction is 82 minutes.

    Hi Meglos,

    I completely agree that Epsom to Strawberry Hill is wrong. When I have time I will try and contact SWR, but in the meantime feel free to contact them yourself. The more who do, the more likely it will change.
