Finsbury Park – Broken Journey Cheaper?

    According to the TFL Fare Finder a single journey:
    “St Pauls” -> “Potters Bar”: £10.30

    However if you break the journey at Finsbury:
    “St Pauls” -> “Finsbury Park” : £3.00
    “Finsbury Park” -> “Potters Bar”: £6.60

    So £9.60, or 70p less!

    Can anyone shed any light on this? Or how to get the cheaper fare?

    Yes, there are lots of opportunities to reduce fares which extend beyond zones 1-6. The drawback is that you need to get off the train and touch out and back in again. At Finsbury Park you’re probably best to use the gates at the new Underground entrance.
