Regarding Liverpool Street LU – Moorgate and Farringdon – Barbican, they already appear to be treated as combined stations. Fares from GN stations to Liverpool Street (LU) via Drayton Park & Moorgate are now charged the same as to Moorgate whereas in the past they were charged as to Underground Z1. Similarly Thameslink stations to Barbican via St Pancras International and Farringdon are charged the same as to Farringdon.
It will be interested to see if the Liverpool street OSIs are allowed when exiting at the Moorgate end. Moorgate to Bank would be particularly useful as an interchange from GN or Circle / Hammersmith & City to the DLR (or Waterloo & City). Moorgate, by my calculation, is about 20m nearer to Bank than Liverpool Street (LU) is and considerably closer than the NR station.13/07/2021 at 16:11 #1087MikeModeratorThanks for those observations, Adam.
Long term I think Moorgate to Bank is unlikely to be an OSI as it’s one stop on th Northern line. While Liverpool Street NR to Bank is an OSI, it doesn’t work to the Monument entrance. There may be some temporary stuff put in while the Bank branch of the Northern line is curtailed.

Many other OSIs are one stop tube journeys: Waterloo to Embankment; Charing + to Embankment; Marylebone to Baker Street. Let’s see what happens!
On a similar point GN stations to TfL Rail stations via Moorgate & Liverpool street currently charges for a zone 1 tube journey between Moorgate and Liverpool Street as there is no OSI and the connection via the new Elizabeth line station is not yet open. Once this becomes an Elizabeth Line journey, I presume these fares will reduce on the basis that there is a direct connection at Moorgate; I wonder if using a Greater Anglia train (including the destinations served by the Elizabeth line) from Liverpool Street (using the Liverpool Street LU-NR OSI) will continue to include the tube journey as there would be no way of knowing if the Moorgate to Liverpool street journey had been made by tube or on foot.
I wonder if we need a separate Elizabeth line forum …13/07/2021 at 22:57 #1092MikeModeratorHi Adam,
I’m sure there will be threads and articles when it becomes clear how the Elizabeth line is going to work in respect of interchanges with two tube stations connected to one EL station.
It’s important to distinguish between OSIs with NR stations compared to LU stations. The Liverpool Street to Bank OSI is only with Liverpool Street NR and is intended for people using the Northern line at Bank and National Rail at Liverpool Street. The same can be said about the Embankment OSIs (District/Circle to National Rail) and the Marylebone (NR) to Baker Street for Circle, Ham & City and Jubilee lines.
The big difference with Moorgate is that there is only one station. National Rail comes in to the Underground station and indeed the NR and Northern lines are above one another. This is why I can’t see an OSI between Moorgate and Bank.
