Mike, I’m having a bit of a brain fade on this subject. I’m “sure” that I’ve both read that it’s valid and have used a One Day Off Peak Travelcard (on ITSO) on buses before 09:30 M-F. But yesterday, planning to do the same thing, something caused me to question whether that was right. As things turned out, I didn’t get to test it yesterday.

Just now I found online only one site on the subject which was eleven years old and said that it isn’t valid.

So, is a One Day Off Peak Travelcard [hurrah!], on any medium, valid for use on buses before 09:30?

    Hi Alan,

No, off-peak day travelcards are not valid on anything before 0930.

The confusion may be because buses count towards the off-peak cap at any time, though I don’t think they should.

Thanks for the quick response, Mike. There’s also the fact that buses don’t have different peak/off-peak fares.

I can always use Oyster if I find myself boarding a bus before 09:30. At an extra cost of course, but if the next bus is some time away then it may be worth it.
