Hi, apologies if this has been covered previously, but I am new to this site.
I need to make a train journey from London Waterloo to Woking and back (same day/off peak). This will take me out of the 60+ card zone, and I’m wondering if any site members have any tips about how to deal with this so that my fare is covered after the train enters the zone that is not covered by my 60+ plus card?
Any suggestions about how site members would deal with this situation would be gratefully appreciated!

You need a RETURN ticket from “London Boundary Zone 6” to Woking
There are various Return tickets
Off Peak Day Return if leaving Waterloo after 9:00 – probably 09:30 is the first sensible train. But you can leave as early as you wish on Saturdays. £10.00
If you are leaving after around 11:40, then it is the much cheaper Evening Out Return. £7.30. Yes evenings start early
On Sunday, it is the Sunday Out Return. Leave as early as you wish. £7.30
If you have a railcard, say Senior Railcard, then ask for the Railcard discount, and Mondays to Fridays the first available train is 09.30
And as you are using the Oyster 60+, you can use non stop trains
You will not tap out at Woking as you will use the paper ticket. Likewise you do not tap in at Woking on the way back
The Oyster 60+ will not care that you tapped in at Waterloo and did not tap out. Likewise when you tap out when you get back to Waterloo

Epsom Downs Station is in Zone 6 but if I prefer to travel to Epsom,
Epsom Station is in London Zone 9 (60+ London Oyster Photocard is only valid as far as Ewell East Rail Station).I would usually prefer to catch connecting trains from London Bridge.
Southern to Epsom.
or Southern to West Croydon and Southern to Epsom Downs. However, I am unsure whether my 60+ London Oyster Photocard would be valid on buses from Ewell East to Epsom.
There are two connecting buses from Ewell East which should take me to Epsom.
S2 bus to Hessle Grove then wait for the E16 bus to Epsom Clock Tower.I understand that it is possible to purchase an extension ticket for the 60+ London Oyster Photocard.
Please advise me of the most straightforward method of purchasing extension tickets for the return journey on the day of travel.I would also need to establish the procedure which should be used to purchase extension tickets for travelling companions with Freedom Passes.
