    Hello from a new member.

I have a negative balance (of £1.50) outstanding on an old Oyster card which has been borrowed and lost by one of my (just about grown up) kids. I tried to report it lost but cannot due to the negative balance. I cannot find any way of paying the £1.50 without having the card in my possession and so being able to tap in with it.
Is there a method for paying the £1.50 to TFL to clear this balance without having the card to hand?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Jonathan,

That’s an interesting conundrum. I’m surprised TfL can’t/won’t stop the card even if it has a negative balance. Do you know whether the card had a deposit on it? If it did then you probably don’t owe TfL anything. If you haven’t already called the helpdesk then I would do so, and ask them exactly what TfL would like you to do. They’ll probably say that nothing can be done, but ask for a call reference and the person’s name, and that’s as much as you can do.
