Is there a pink reader near Platforms 16 & 17? I have read historic things on the internet about there only be punk reader(s) near platform 1 & 2 but wondered if they had been added.
My wife is planning to travel from Harrow & Wealdstone to Chessington North using the Southern service from H&W to Clapham Junction. Does she need to use a pink reader or is it assumed that as she has not tapped out and in in Zone 1 she did not travel via Zone 1. I do not think it is possible to make the journey via Zone 1 without going through a barrier requiring a tap out (without perhaps a ridiculous long journey (time wise).

The default fare for Harrow and Wealdstone to Chessington North is zones 2-6, so no need to touch at Clapham Junction. If you check the fare finder on this site it tells you what zones each fare thinks you’ve used.
