    Hello,

I have an oyster card with an active 18-25 student discount. Today, Sunday, I did the following trip:

Touch in at Canada water tube. Touch out at Waterloo tube, touch in at Waterloo NR, touch out at Wimbledon NR.

That cost £3.55, counted as a single journey.

Then I did the same journey, only in the opposite direction. Exact same gatelines, Sunday (so both off peak), but I was charged £3.40.

Any guess why the difference? It’s not the £0.15 I care about, it’s the principle and frustration of such a convoluted system.

    Thank you!

    Hi Antony,

You reached the zones 1-3 off-peak cap for a railcard discounted Oyster card of £6.95. This is because both journeys used a mix of Underground and late adopting National Rail.

Oh I see, I was surprised that I reached the cap by just two journeys, but this makes sense. Thank you Mike!
