One other observation in relation to what you said:
If the reason why Oakleigh Park-Canary Wharf is the NR only fare is because there’s a valid Oakleigh Park-Abbey Wood NR only route, then why is the NR only fare also the case when going from say, Mill Hill Broadway-Abbey Wood, where a NR only route seems improbable (without OSIs or a lot of changes)?

As soon as you think you’ve got the hang of how TfL fares work… NOPE! Do you think they’ll ever rehaul the entire thing completely? Maybe in like 50 years or something? I highly doubt they will in the next decade or two.

Right, I see! So you’re saying that the ‘NR-T’ fare category only EVER applies on journeys that include zone 1? If so then I didn’t see this on the ‘NR-T’ part of the table on your ‘Fares Guide & Tables’ page?
Hey, I know I wasn’t involved in this conversation but I have to ask this as it has confused me:
How can Plumstead to Lewisham using only Southeastern cost the same as Plumstead to Lewisham when going Southeastern to Greenwich and then DLR to Lewisham? How can this be? Solely using NR is always cheaper than NR + Underground/DLR right?
