The Fares Guide section now has pages for the 2020 fares and the fare finder is also showing the updated fares. Other pages will be updated where necessary over the next day or so.

How do I use the Fare Finder to calculate historical travel costs in 2019 please?
Hi,
TfL do not provide access to historic data for the fare finder. You can use the 2019 fare tables on the Fares Guide page as a rough guide assuming you know what fare scales apply to each journey. If you give me an example journey(s) I can point you in the right direction.
Dear Mike,
Thank you for your response.
I hope you are well and keeping safe.
I am trying to obtain the 2019 fare rates from Wembley Park to the following destinations (for peak and off-peak):
1) Wembley Central
2) Colindale
3) Charing Cross
4) South Harrow
5) Acton Town
6) Angel
7) Piccadilly Circus
8) Brixton
9) Holborn
10) Wandsworth Town
11) Wood Green
I am trying to calculate the single fare for the outward journey, and singe fare journey for return journey and the cap amount for the entire journey (outward and return) for each of the 11 destinations above (travelling from Wembley Park).
I have a spreadsheet I have started to complete but there is no option to upload it – feel free to email me and I can send it to you which will make it much easier!
Is there anyway you can restore your yellow Fare Finder link on your website for 2019?
Many thanks!
Hi,
The single fares for all those destinations should still be the same as last year thanks to the Mayor’s fare freeze, apart from Wandsworth Town. The only caveat is that you must have used the Underground for all journeys. You can therefore use the current fare finder to get the required peak and off-peak fares. In the blue route description header you’ll see a zone range. The daily cap is related to the higher zone number and you can check last years values on the relevant daily caps and travelcards page on the fares guide.
For Wandsworth Town the fares from Wembley Park all went up by 10p this year, so just deduct 10p from this years figure.
My fare finder uses fare data provided live by TfL, so the results will always be the same as their single fare finder. They do not make historic data available so I can’t offer a version with last years fares.
I am curious how you went from Wembley Park to Wembley Central though. I’d have thought the bus would be quicker than trains.
Dear Mike,
Thank you for your reply, that is very helpful.
(1) How do I work out the historical tube fares to the above 11 destinations from Wembley Park for the year 2018 please?
(2) What do I use to work out the historical bus fares for the years 2019 and 2018 please?
I agree, Wembley Park to Wembley Central should be calculated via bus.
Many thanks!
Dear Mike,
Just following on from the query above:
(3) From Wembley Park Underground Station to Wembley Central by bus it costs £1.50 one-way:
https://tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey/results?InputFrom=Wembley+Park+Underground+Station&FromId=1000257&InputTo=Wembley+Central&ToId=1000256
For a two-way (return) journey would it cost £3.00. Is there a cap for bus fares?
Are there no return bus fare calculators online?
Many thanks for your help!
Hi,
Tube and bus fares have remained the same since 2nd Jan 2016 under the Mayor’s fare freeze. Archived pages from this site, including various fare tables, can be found at https://www.oysterfares.com/archived-page-collection/. If it’s not on that page then it’s unlikely that I have the information.
A bus (or tram) fare is £1.50. Any subsequent touch in within an hour on a bus is free. After 3 chargeable bus journeys any further buses or trams that day are free.
Feel free to ask any further questions, though a better understanding of what you’re trying to achieve might help. I’m struggling to believe that anyone would be able to claim travel expenses more than a year old.
Dear Mike,
Thank you for your response.
I do not have your email but it would be extremely helpful if it was possible for you to ping me a blank email so I can email you the spreadsheet I am working on with an explanation as to what I am trying to achieve and the purpose etc.
With kind regards and thanks.
