    Hello,

I was wondering if you could help me.

I am starting a new role in Canary Wharf and will be travelling from Zone 6 to 2 daily (6:32 arriving to Canary Wharf for 7:22 Mon-Fri). I will most likely be getting the 4:45 train home.
What is the cheapest way for me to travel?

    Thanks 🙂

    Hi Grace,

It depends where you are coming from and whether you also need to use a bus. If you can provide your zone 6 station name I can answer.

    Thanks for your quick response!

    No buses required just train/tubes.

OK, that’s just a simple journey on TfL scale fares so just use PAYG. The single fares are £3.00 peak and £2.60 off-peak. You should get off-peak on your morning journey as long as you touch in by 0630. The afternoon journey will be peak.

Would you mind confirming what PAYG is please?

    Thanks.

Would that be a Oyster card , travel card or debit card contactless ?

Sorry, PAYG = Pay as you Go.

That can be an Oyster card or it could be contactless. You won’t need a travelcard unless you start making a lot of extra journeys.
