Hi, I’m not sure if there is anyone that would know, but I am hoping. Is there any way I could avoid having to pay £9.40 on travelling to Surbiton? I was hoping that there would be another route that I’d be able to take. On the website it says something about avoiding Canada Water or something but i’m not exactly sure how, or if it’ll even help in reducing my fare.
The exact route depends on which Bow station you start from, but in each case the alternative route will avoid zone 1 and bring the peak single fare down to £5.10.
Rather than avoiding Canada Water or Whitechapel you need to change there and touch the pink validator before picking up the train to Clapham Junction. You then change there for an SWR service to Surbiton.
