I would like to visit Windsor while I’m visiting London next week. From where I am staying it seems the best way is to take the Elizabeth line from Bond Street to Slough and change there for a GWR train to Windsor & Eton Central. I don’t have a contactless card. So I’m wondering what’s the best way to get a ticket for this.

    – It looks like the GWR website (to which National Rail redirected me) can sell a ticket from Bond Street to Windsor. It says it needs to be collected at a station, and Bond Street comes up as an option (though I haven’t tried completing the booking). Is this a viable option, especially regarding collecting at Bond Street?
    – Alternatively, can the ticket office/machine at Bond Street sell a ticket to Windsor? Or do I need to buy a ticket to Slough and another ticket from Slough to Windsor at Slough? (I don’t have a contactless card.)
    – Or is it just simpler to take a mainline train from Paddington to Slough so I can be sure of getting a ticket at Paddington?

Do you have Apple Pay or Google Wallet? If you can add your card into it, it can then functions as a contactless card.

Otherwise, you can just buy your ticket at the ticket machine at Bond Street.
