Making a train journey between 04:30 – 09:30 count towards the peak/anytime cap only. Explaining a scenario and this is based on 11-15 zip cards btw, lets say you make a journey from Watford High Street (zone 8) to Ealing Broadway (zone 3) during the times above will count towards the zone 8 daily anytime cap of £9.55. Now, when you make journeys from 09:30 and onwards, they then count towards the off-peak cap as well, will any journeys that count towards the off-peak still be based on the furthest zone that you travelled on.

    Like,
Watford High Street (zone 8) – Ealing Broadway (zone 3) – between 0430-0930 – counted towards anytime Zone 8 cap
Following journeys after that time will be counted towards off-peak Zone 8 cap as well?

    Or,
Watford High Street (zone 8) – Ealing Broadway (zone 3) – between 0430-0930 – counted towards anytime Zone 8 cap
Following journeys after that time will be counted towards off-peak Zone 3 cap?

    Hi Duncan,

I’ve split this so as not to confuse an open thread.

It’ll be the second option. The off-peak cap applies for the journeys you make and the zones you use after 0930. Having said that, in the specific case of the zip 11-15 card the same off-peak cap applies all the way to zone 9, so you won’t notice anything different.
