    Your advice is much appreciated.

I am looking to buy an annual travel card for zone 2-3. I live in Zone 3 and commute into Zone 2 mon-fri.
I do travel to zone 1 from time to time , so my question is

If I travel to zone 1 from zone 2 with my travelcard at 5pm mon-fri, with annual gold card discount, will I be charged the zone 1 only extra zonal fare 2.8£ or the zone 2 to zone 1 off peak discounted fare of 1.8£?
I normally go out to zone 1 after work for 2 days in weekdays , and need to travel zone 1-3 when going back home.

Also, I do reach the daily cap of zone 1-3 in weekends. I’m thinking if the discounted off peak cap for zone 1-3 still works in weekend with a travel card zone 2-3? or I have to pay extra zonal fare for every trip passing through zone 1 until I reach the normal daily cap of zone 1-3? in which costs me quite a lot of money.

    Hi,

The fare will be the off-peak discounted zone 1 fare. The journey is from outside zone 1 so the off-peak rate applies and zone 1 is all that’s not been covered by your travelcard.

As for capping, that will apply if you reach the zone 1-2 cap (there is no zone 1 only cap).

    Hope that helps.
