    Hi there,

Recently I’ve been noticing that during the evening peak period my Gold Card discount is only being sporadically applied. I understood that the Gold Card discount only doesn’t apply during the morning peak, and that therefore it would be applied regardless of evening peak times. Has anyone else had this issue, any ideas what might be causing it? I’ve tried getting in touch with Tfl but the ongoing cyber security incident seems to be their ongoing excuse for not responding.

    Gold Card Discount

    Thanks,

    AJ

Transport for London: Annual Gold Card

An Annual Gold Card discount does not give any discount to peak fares on TfL services when added to an Oyster card:

Get 1/3 discount on off-peak pay as you go fares and off-peak daily caps. Travel any time on weekends and public holidays and after 09:30, Monday to Friday

I think what you are finding is that if you travel from a station outside Zone 1 to a station in Zone 1 between 16:00 and 19:00, Monday to Friday it is classed as off-peak.

As mentioned, the gold card and Railcard* discounts do not apply to peak single fares or the Anytime cap. If you travel enough in the evening peak then the discounted off-peak cap may limit your charge for the day.

Disabled railcards offer discounts all day.
