So this week I’ve made a large amount of journeys on bus, tram, DLR, tube and National Rail.

With one exception every trip has been within zones 3-6 and I expected my Oyster to cap at the 3-6 cap of £38.20 today but it hasn’t.
In fact I’ve racked up a total of £47.25 in just zone 3-6 journeys by the end of today.

I made one journey from Harrow on the Hill to Russell Square on the tube at £3.40 which I didn’t obviously add to the £47.25.

Will it cap for tomorrow’s trips? or charge me more for train travel tomorrow as I’m going to make several journeys from Slade Green to Woolwich Arsenal tomorrow.

    Hi Chris,

Oyster weekly capping is calculated each night with any adjustment queued for the following day if it’s over the threshold. Did you get a refund? If not, copy your full history for the week and I’ll see what I make of it.

    Morning,
I did get a partial refund of £9.85 yesterday and I’ve just tapped in on a 428 and haven’t got any further refunds.
I expected an additional refund of 95p
I’ll email you over a copy of my weeks trips when I get home as then it should have updated 🙂

    Hi Chris,

It’s working. You do like pushing the boundaries though.

As you suggested, you have exceeded the zone 3-6 weekly cap by £9.85 on Friday. This was refunded on Saturday morning at the same time as charging you for the final 95p to make the weekly bus/tram cap. That 95p needs to come back but is below the threshold for refunds. However, you’ll have been charged a further £1.65 today (at least) which also needs to come back and I expect it all to be refunded tomorrow. Do let me know if it isn’t.
