Update to Caps in Essex (East of Shenfield)

As reported earlier, a gremlin got into the setting of off-peak caps from all the stations east of Shenfield, other than Beaulieu Park. Southend Airport was also thought to be fine, but it turns out that was affected as well. The result of this gremlin is that the TfL system believes that the off-peak caps from these stations are higher than they should be. Greater Anglia have arranged with TfL to issue refunds wherever a higher amount is charged, until the caps are updated on TfL’s database. In the unlikely event that a refund is not processed, customers should contact the TfL helpdesk after 10 days following the overcharge.  I now have details of what the caps should be and the full list is shown below. It is possible that a charge will be made between the correct cap and the wrong cap, but this will still be refunded.

StationWrong off-peak capCorrect off-peak cap
Billericay£32.10£29.20
Chelmsford£36.70£33.20
Hatfield Peverel£42.00£38.00

Southend Victoria£32.50£31.50
Wickford£32.30£31.00
Witham£43.90£40.80

There was also a potential issue with the weekly Monday to Sunday cap from Witham.  This has now been cleared up and the cap was in fact right.  I’m not sure where/how I managed to get a lower figure for the weekly travelcard from, but it was that that was incorrect.
