    Thanks for the feedback Mike.

In case it ever helps anyone else it’s possibly worth pointing out the confusion on the TfL website when applying for the 60+ Oyster. They say you can apply two weeks before your 60th birthday. I tried 14 days before, I tried 13 days before – to no avail. I called TfL and they told me that it’s actually 10 days before. I tried 11 days before and it worked.

What is stated on the website and is actually true is that you can use the card as soon as it arrives – you don’t have to wait until your birthday!

I have recently acquired a 60+ card and have successfully added it to my TFL account that I already used for my existing PAYG Oyster.

I also added my son’s Zip Oyster as well for completeness, as it allows me to see the PAYG balance on his card for when we go on the cable car.

What I do see is that the expiry dates on the TFL website are different to those on the cards (which match those on the photocard website). I find that strange. In the case of my son’s card the expiry date is shown as 31 Dec in the year following it’s expiry – so that shouldn’t cause a problem. My 60+ Oyster card’s expiry date is shown as more than a year before it’s actual expiry date (and is 6 years after it was issued).

Has anyone else seen such anomalies?
