ParticipantI think there has been a corporate loss of memory. This as a result of not selling Zone 1 to 6 extension tickets. Harold Wood is now used as a proxy and so confuses everyone. Clearly there are few people that use this ticket option.
It would be good if the online purchase had an additional selection alongside rail card holder. That would be London zonal fare holder that would automatically sell an extension ticket.

ParticipantIt will be an unknown saving for many Londoners and clearly not a regular thing for GA.
It should be built into the online purchase just like having a senior rail card is.
How many people will know they can get a boundary zone ticket in combination!

ParticipantI have received the following from London TravelWatch. So good news. Thanks for your support:
I hope all’s well with you. Since I wrote to you I’ve had a reply from both Greater Anglia and the RDG.
I’m pleased to let you know that, by using your 60+ Oystercard and another ticket from Harold Wood to Ipswich means the train doesn’t have to stop at Harold Wood for it to be a valid ticket. This has been confirmed by both Greater Anglia and the RDG. I’m glad this has been confirmed as I did wonder if the terms and conditions may’ve changed and we were unaware of it.
Greater Anglia has asked I pass on their sincerest apologies for the confusion that’s been caused as nothing is worse than being given the wrong information by their Customer Relations team and Train Manager. I would like to assure you this is being taken up, internally, as a training issue. However, they would like to identify the Train Manager and have asked for the time and date of your journey. Greater Anglia will then be able to take up the matter with them directly. Can you please give me this information and I’ll pass it onto Greater Anglia.

ParticipantI think I will involve London TravelWatch. Will let you know the outcome.

ParticipantHi
I have a further response from Greater Anglia disputing my use of over 60s Oyster along with Zone 6 extensions from nominally Harold Wood. I did mention NRCC 14.3.
Thank you for contacting Greater Anglia Customer Relations.
While you mention Section 14.3 of the National Rail Conditions of Travel, this would not apply in this instance. Over 60’s Oyster Cards can only be used between Stratford and London Liverpool Street on Greater Anglia services.
So if you are travelling on a Greater Anglia service, your boundary station would be Stratford.
Once again thank you for contacting Greater Anglia, should you require any further assistance in the future, please get back in touch.
Kind regards,
Matthew

ParticipantI presently use Harold Wood as the first station. Is a fare from Shenfield to Ipswich legitimate?
