SimonParticipant
Ok – thank you.
SimonParticipantThere are some situations where it can make a difference.
Take Wimbledon to Whitechapel. If you go direct through zone 1 using the District Line it’s 3.70 peak, 3.00 off peak. However if you go Wimbledon – Clapham Jn – West Brompton – Whitechapel and touch the pink reader at Clapham Jn it will be 3.20 peak and 2.80 off peak but you’re still going through Zone 1. If you don’t touch the pink reader at Clapham Jn it will be 3.70/3.00 as before.

SimonParticipantI’m old enough to remember Travelcards and Capitalcards. So, should it happen, this new TfL only Travelcard would not be available to a substantial proportion of SW, S and SE London (for example) who don’t have TfL services?
Frankly I don’t see the prospect of the fragmentation of ticketing into different modes as a step forward and in fact could be the thin end of the wedge towards total separation again.
SimonParticipant“TfL also continues to consider a separate proposal to generate additional income by withdrawing from the Travelcard Agreement.”
Could someone please set out what this means; is it a round about way of saying that TFL are considering abolishing travel cards?
SimonParticipantInteresting – I checked mine on my photocard account.
I phoned the helpdesk and they said it is “not recommended” to use the photocard portal to check the journey history (presumably because it doesn’t work properly for new stations!). After a bit of faffing about (because apparently I have two normal Oyster accounts when I thought I only had one), I have got my 60+ card linked to a “normal” account and the journey history is indeed shown correctly there.
I would say though that they either ought to sort out the issues with new stations on the photocard portal journey history or remove the ability to access the journey history from that portal. If it’s there it should work properly imo.
